Dear Resident Green Committee Members,

Congratulations to you and the Civic Corps members who helped create, organize and launch the NYCHA Resident Green Committee Website.  It speaks to your desire to meet the challenge to reduce your and NYCHA’s carbon footprint, reverse climate change, reduce and conserve NYCHA’s energy and other utilities, and preserve public housing.

The pledge and commitment you have undertaken is not a light one.  You have agreed to attend monthly meetings, work with others to create and implement projects that will enhance NYCHA’s and the City of New York’s green agenda, and have done so as a volunteer.  It all requires a commitment of time, energy and a willingness to move forward in the face of any adversity that may present itself.

This website project makes evident that you truly understand that the only way NYCHA and the rest of humankind can resolve its problems is to work together.  I hope that the website will facilitate communication among you and allow you to follow all the good ideas that you pick up along the way.  You have clearly shown that once you use the power that is in your hands, you can accomplish anything!
