Earlier, there was no possible way to manually upgrade Mi A2 with a locked bootloader. Starting with Android 10, the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite support OTA sideloading/installation via stock recovery. This means you can now sideload the update’s OTA ZIP package through the stock recovery menu. Since the rollout will take place in stages, it may take time before it’s available for every user.

• The former is the easiest and doesn’t require a PC at all, however, it will only work if you have an external SD card installed on your phone.
• A custom ROM is an aftermarket firmware production based on the Android source code provided by Google.

The official LineageOS 19 custom ROM based on Android 12 is available for the OnePlus 7 Pro. I’m not sure why but the newer versions of LineageOS aren’t very popular yet but this is a very impressive and official build. The different LineageOS versions are often posted by different developers. This one is published by an XDA Recognized Developer (LuK1337). There is an official LineageOS 19.1 custom ROM based on Android 12 for the OnePlus 7 Pro. Interestingly it is a new XDA forum member who is the one posting it first. I’m not sure if he is a developer of the ROM or not but he has provided many outstanding screenshots.

While not indicated in the changelog, it looks like this OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 3 based on Android 11 for the OnePlus 7 series was the first build with this change. EvolutionX is yet another custom ROM based on vanilla AOSP, similar to Pixel Experience. It is one of the most customizable custom ROMs in the Android community. But in this case, we want to get the Android 11 source code so we will specify the android 11 branch using the -b tag and initialize the repo.
